I was born during a snowstorm in the mid-2000s. My childhood is now a blur of sorts, but much like a true American I loved to eat fast food in front of the TV and often imagined myself as the star of my own sitcoms. Unlike a true American, I loved to read and to learn.
I grew up being very captivated by music. Cloistering myself in my childhood bedroom and becoming engrossed by artists & bands I liked was a common state for me back then. I grew up on a steady musical diet of Top 40 pop & hip hop, '90s alternative rock, funk, ska, and metal.
As I grew older, it became readily apparent that my omnivorous tastes were growing near insatiable. Growing up in a house flush with books, both children's and not, the library reared its head as a sort of safe haven. Regarding music, I was attuned to the most left-field and experimental artists imaginable, but on a diametrically opposed level was also deeply moved by pop music & the like.
In the sixth grade, I served as both Class Representative and Student Body President for my elementary school's 2017-'18 years. I helped reinstate our basketball court and orated pertinent announcements. High school was a harder transition. It was around this time where I began to write and record my own music, which was met with modest success. I performed well in my English courses, writing short stories and poems of different varieties, and developed a fondness for science.
Senior year was the year in which I achieved the things I am personally proudest of. An original song of mine written for an arts contest won an award for "Excellence in Music Composition", and I received a $2,000 college scholarship for my work with my disability advocacy club. Through a T-shirt fundraiser, we ended up raising over $1,000 for a special education center in New York. This astonishes me to this day!
As of present I am an artist of different fields (writing, traditional artwork and graphic design, music, and computer programming). I am currently working on a novel called "Ephemeral Transmission". In August, I will be a freshman in college pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Professional Communications. I still feel as though my personal philosophy of never losing sight of your childhood innocence will embolden me to keep exercising my interests in a healthy, interesting, and bizarrely humorous manner, just like it has for the past nine-or-so years. I hope you enjoy this site and like what you find within. Cheers.
